This Fall, Yoga Reaches Out, an organization being established as a non-profit entity focused on raising funds for children’s charities through yoga events, is hosting Yogathon 2010 at Gillette Stadium to benefit Children’s Hospital Boston. With your participation, we can use the practice of yoga to help improve the health, education, and well-being of children.
Yoga Reaches Out (YRO) is an organization that makes a difference in the lives of children through yoga. Founded by personal trainer and yogi Sarah Gardner of Wayland, MA, YRO is working in concert with Children’s Hospital Boston to hold a day of yoga classes led by the nation’s foremost yoga masters.
Yogathon 2010 is envisioned as a daylong event of yoga practice. To further embrace the spirit, we will have live music from local and national musicians, demonstrations for various styles of yoga, and meditation. In addition, there will be a marketplace for products and services related to yoga and wellness.
The event will take place on September 19th, 2010. We have secured The Fieldhouse at Gillette Stadium, which is an indoor training stadium, so weather is not an issue.

Twenty-one years ago, on July 5th Eric Donovan was born to Mark Donovan and Kathie Rhodes. Eric is the oldest of two brothers; Gregory and Austin. Mark is the Captain of the Scituate Fire Department, and works hard to support and provide for his family.
Growing up in Scituate, Eric found a passion for the ocean and a love of boating. Summer days were spent on the Spit, throwing around the football and swimming in the water. When Eric was in seventh grade he volunteered his time as a camp counselor for the Scituate Recreation Department. It was unknown at that time, that nine years later his positive influence and dedication to the children of Scituate would still be going strong within the recreation department.
At 15 years of age, Eric was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare malignant round cell tumor most commonly found in teenage boys. His chances for survival were a mere 30%. Amazingly in August 2009, after a six- year battle of his life, Eric was cleared of this disease. However, just a few short weeks after this miraculous news, Eric was critically injured in a diving accident at the beach.
