Power of the “b Positive Project” – MUST READ & WATCH

breast_cancer_ribbon

Today I received the following email from a women in Chicago whom I’ve never met before. As I read her email and watched the video per her request, I started to get a ‘lil’ teary-eyed; allergies this time of year really get me.  At first I was like what am I doing?? Alright man, shut it off…. Next thing I know I’m 25 minutes into the video, watching a story about a person from Buffalo that I’ve never met before. Needless to say I was moved by Abby’s story and all the lives she has had a positive impact on. And it made me feel good knowing that people from all over the country are starting to see the b Positive Project as a way to inspire others. I’m looking forward to helping Abby’s Angels for a Cure raise funds and awareness. Stay tuned for more details on Abby’s Angels for a Cure. Below is the actual email chain.

Steve,

My name is Deb Geary. I am currently the president of the Abby-Jill Brauhn Foundation 501(c)3 (pending).  We are just in the process of the development. Basically, I lost my sister to Breast Cancer 3 years ago. I was devastated with her diagnosis that 6 years ago I started walking in the Susan G Komen 3-Day. My team Abbys Angels have raised over $100,000 this year! My family has decided to really keep my fight for the cure of breast cancer in my sister’s memory and thus the start of the foundation.

I came across your web site and was inspired and would love the opportunity to work with you and your organization. Again, our organization is in the infancy but I have a pretty good handle on the vision that I want. I would love to have a pink shirt Be the HOPE. All proceeds would be donated to the Abby-Jill Brauhn Foundation. This would be a team shirt worn by Abby’s Angels in the 3-Day in Chicago, a fundraiser that could become available throughout the year. I would love stickers, clings… etc.

Again, I would LOVE to talk to you about this. Before we talk or write to understand my sister and a little bit about me I have a website: www.abbysangelsforacure.com. I would love if you could watch the video of my sister’s life and BE inspired. I believe that she is a person that represents your organization. I would be thrilled to talk with you!

Hi Deb,   Thank you for sending. I would love to speak to you about getting your organization on board. I did watch the video and was deeply moved by the video.  She definitely had a HUGE impact on those she knew and those she those she did not know (ME).….

When I started this organization I had very little idea on how much the organization would really impact other’s lives and I certainly didn’t have any idea on how other people’s stories would impact mine. I receive emails like yours periodically and at the events in person even more frequently. Do you mind letting me post your email on our website? If not, I completely understand, it’s just a testament on how powerful the “b” is becoming and how your sister’s story could inspire others and raise awareness.   Let me know when a good time to chat would be.  Thanks,
