a “small” party helps make a HUGE difference” – b Positive Project.Com

These emails are from parents and children who attended a Boston Celtics basketball game this past St Patricks Day. Tickets were purchased from the proceeds of our last event, Boston’s 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Party.

When I first started to receive these emails, I wasn’t sure whether to post them or not. I wasn’t sure what viewers would say, do or think. I asked 2 people who I admire and value their opinion more than anyone else (my mom and my girlfriend) and they both said “not to post them.” They said that it was too “heart-felt.” But after further thought, I thought it was most definitely the right-thing to do. My Reason: is because it may just inspire 1 reader/viewer to help make a positive impact for someone else. If so, then why would I want to keep that from happening? If it offends anyone, I’m sorry. If it makes you feel good, you’re welcome.

P.S. We did get permission to post the following:

Hi Kelly

Please forward this very heartfelt thank-you to Steve and anyone else involved at the b Positive Project for the Celtics tickets that were donated for the game on 3/17.

Matthew was very excited for several days before the game, during the game, and for several days after the game. He enjoyed sharing about his experience at show and tell the very next day, and even today, when I put on his Celtics t-shirt, he was beaming again. It is the type of experience that we would not probably be able to provide him without the Starlight program and the generous people and organizations that make donations.

Unfortunately, we had forgotten our camera on game day so instead I have attached a few pictures of Matthew in his t-shirt.

Thanks again. Nancy and Jon and Matthew

Kelly, would you please forward on to the b Positive Project and if they would prefer a hand written letter with printed pictures, I can certainly do that I just do everything electronically these days.

Dear Members of the b Positive Project ,

We can’t thank you enough for your generosity! Your unbelievable donation of Celtics Tickets to the Starlight Foundation really made a difference in the lives of our very special children. They were able to have fun and enjoy a Celtics game like any other normal kid and you made that happen. The kids were beaming with joy! Thank you for making a positive experience for our sweet bundles of joy special kids who deserve a special treat.

Attached are some photos from the event.

Thank you,

April, Shawn, John Thomas and Ryan

The Story of Bottled Water – b Positive Project

The Story of Bottled Water, releasing March 22, 2010 on storyofbottledwater.org, employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over seven minutes, the film explores the bottled water industry’s attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to ‘take back the tap,’ not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.

The best job in the world – b Positive Project.Com

boston celticsHi Steve,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for the Celtics tickets!! Starlight families truly enjoyed the game last night! Families received parking, “Garden Gold” to use like cash inside the stadium, tickets to a great game, and a great night out!

You wouldn’t believe it – the first family that arrived both Mom & Dad were wearing b.positive “b.IRISH” shirts for St. Patrick’s Day!! Isn’t that amazing? I didn’t realize that Starlight families were giving back and supporting the wonderful work that you do. It was really touching and they were both really excited that I noticed and made a big deal about it. They are going to take a picture and send it in to me!

I’ll send along any thank-you notes & drawings as I receive them. Thanks again for a really special night. For many of these families, this was their first EVER Celtics game!!

Thanks for making this possible. You are truly making a difference!

Sincerely,

Kelly
